How it all came together
Individually and collectively Kiss Me, Judas have been paying their dues since tender teenage years, and over time have shared stages with the likes of Marillion, Average White Band, Gwyn Ashton and the Bee Gees just to name a few. Now, after many years, various line-up changes and the usual highs and lows of band life, they have finally come together as a unit that really works. It all started one morning in the summer of 2004 when Brian woke up and decided that after a long hiatus he really needed to get back out there. So, from a speculative ad on a musicians’ wanted website, history rather surprisingly, began to repeat itself. Take a look at the band profiles and you’ll find out why. Story Behind The Band Name
Kiss Me, Judas is the title of a modern American noir thriller written by Will Christopher Baer. It is based on the urban legend about a travelling man who goes to sleep one night then wakes in the morning to find that one of his kidney’s has been harvested. Baer takes the legend one step further by introducing us to a disgraced cop, Phineas Poe, who after his release from a psychiatric hospital, meets up with a beautiful woman in a hotel bar. She is wearing a highly revealing red dress and has a “body like a knife.” Phineas pays her $200 and takes her to his room. The following morning he wakes up in a bathtub full of melting ice, with fresh blood on his fingers and staples in his side. A note has been left…”if you want to live, call 911.” And so he sets out on a dangerous journey of revenge. Will Christopher Baer created a masterpiece of modern noir with Kiss Me, Judas. It is a deep, dark unravelling journey fuelled by booze, drugs, sex, violence, corruption, murder and rock ‘n’ roll. Seemed like a good idea for a band name. |
